Unlike their namesake, which is nothing more than an ineffective pill made of sugar, the band that has taken on his name has far more influence on your state of mind. Since their apparently accidental inception in 1994, Placebo have been soaring through the minds and spirits of fans around the world and have managed to put forth an impressive five studio albums, with their latest to date being Meds, released in March 2006 as their last album on contract with Virgin Records.

They’ve even rounded up some celebrity fans, many of whom have appeared on past recordings as well as performed with the bans at live shows. Slated to share the Main Stage with some of alternative music’s best, this band was certainly no accident.
